Tournament Conditions for Centre Operators.

1. Tournaments are to be TWO day events or as agreed to by Central Region.

2. Court centre to put out posters and entry forms at least 4 weeks prior to the event. (A sample entry form will be supplied with tournaments conditions)

3. Entry fees should be set at approximately $30 per player.

4. The court centre, is to on behalf of Q Squash – Central Region, collect a $2 levy from all players entry fee, to be handed to Central Region Committee on conclusion of event.

5. Events to be offered will be Boys and Girls 9,11, 13, 15, 17, and Colts (19/23) AGE GROUPS or if numbers demand, DIVISIONS based on ability:- best of 5 games in accordance with Central Region selection tournament format.

6. Players not playing for team selection will play B grade event which will be graded event, run at the discretion of the tournament organiser.

7. Court centre to be responsible for collecting entry fees and nominations.

8. Court center to be responsible for all insurance cover and trophies / prizes. Minimum of 1st and 2nd results will receive trophies / prizes.

9. Central Region Committee will assist in preparations of draws and running of tournament, if required.

10. Results of tournament are to be completed and delivered to Central Region on completion of event

11. All courts to be available exclusively for the duration of the event (centres less than 6 courts).

……………………….Squash Centre is interested in conducting a Central Region Junior Selection Tournament, in 2010/11 and is happy to agree to the above terms.

Court centres will be notified of successful application to host a selection tournament by late December 2010.

Note

The Queensland Junior Championships (QJC) will be conducted during first week of school holidays Saturday ….. June to Sunday …. July 2011.

Fixtures

Monday/Thursday:

Six week fun comps run from Monday 30 January. Format changes each season to give variety either 5 games to 15 or 4 games to 21. Times of play and scorers allocated starting at 6pm.

Tuesday / Wednesday:

Snakes and ladders 15 week competition with 3 rounds of 5 – starting at 7pm, best of 5 games Australian rules. Players are graded in groups of six. At the end of each round the highest ranked player for that round moves up a group and the lowest ranked player moves down. New season startsTuesday24 January, names to Squash World.

Friday Morning

Every Friday morning from 9am fixtures are run for any interested players. Players are graded and grouped into teams. Parents with small children are most welcome.

Enjoy the morning and then stay and play social doubles.

Social

Sunday

Every Sunday from 2pm to approx 5pm a fun club afternoon is played. Come along have a social hit or ask for some coaching. During the footy season the TV is always on for the afternoon match. (During summer the cricket or tennis)

Courts open from 3.15 Mon-Thurs and all day Friday, ring anytime to book a court for a social hit outside these times.

Scottvale Park Squash Centre offers a variety of competitions and tournaments throughout the year, and encourages social hire of the courts for squash and racquetball. They also offer multi-sport packages to school groups, vacation care and social groups – squash, racquetball, table tennis, mini tennis, rebound netball.

The centre boasts 11 glass backed courts and a salt water pool for member enjoyment. It has hosted the following tournaments – 2001 and 2010 Queensland School Championships, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 Queensland Open, 2009 National Junior Series and the 2010 Queensland Junior Championships.

TOURNAMENTS IN 2011
• SVP Junior Open 5th and 6th March
• A Man’s Toyshop Timed Masters and Doubles Event – 21st & 22nd May
• Australian Master’s Squash Championships consisting of two events – 5th to 9th September Graded Aged Individuals event – 12th to 16th September Graded State Team’s Event – over 600 nominations expected for this two week event.
• Rockhampton Business Houses Team’s Titles – 5th & 6th November

MONDAY ROLLING COMPETIING AND CHRISTMAS COMPETITIONS
Designed for fund and fitness, the competition is played in six week blocks that run continuously throughout the year. 3 games played to 31, point-a-rally scoring, guarantees everyone gets a great workout. Players are graded in divisions relevant to their skills and will success move up the divisions.
Commencement dates for 2011 Comps are 31st January, 14th March, 9th May, 27th June, 8th August, 19th September, 31st October. The Monday Christmas Comp commences on 12th December and the Wednesday Christmas Comp commences on 14th December.

JUNIOR FIXTURES
Each Thursday night from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Four seasons per year (coinciding with the school terms.

JUNIOR BEGINNER CLINIC
Friday afternoons during school terms 4.00 to 5.00pm. Equipment supplied. For new Juniors their first term is free, then it is $7.00 per week. Juniors are taught in a fun group environment by accredited coaches.

SENIOR FIXTURES
Held on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7.00pm. Players play on the night relevant to their skill level. The competition has four mixed divisions competing. There are three seasons per year – Season One 26th January to 19th May – Season Two 26th May to 4th August – Season Three 11th August to 8th December.

CLUB PRACTICE AND GROUP TRAINING SQUAD
Club Practice on Saturday from 1.00 to 3.30pm. Our club coaches assist players with drills they wish to learn. Social players are invited to join us for a run. Group Training Squad Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm join Michael and crew for a bit of bootcamp training – drills, fitness and doubles.

DAYTIME FIXTURES
Each Wednesday and Thursday during school terms from 9.30pm. A great social get together. Suitable for stay at home parents, casual and shift workers, students. Tea and Coffee provided. After individual games players stay back for doubles games.

PRIVATE COACHING
The centre offers private one-on-one coaching sessions with our four experienced coaches. Appointments are necessary.

PRO SHOP AND RESTRINGING SERVICE
The centre boasts Queensland’s largest pro shop stocking reputable brands at very competitive prices. We also offer a quick racquet restring service.
